Funny Money closes in Southwold

Well guys, we've completed our third and final week of Funny Money in Southwold! The next stop of our Funny Money journey takes us to Aldeburgh for a two week at Jubilee Hall. Opening in Southwold on Monday is Jeeves and Wooster directed by Mark Sterling which has already had a weeks run in Aldeburgh.

Backstage in Southwold

What goes on backstage of a show is just as important, if not more for any production. As part of the stage management team you have to ensure the actors are ready for the nights performance, making sure they have the necessary props and costume they're required to have, and make be in the wings ready to perform. Communication is vital, if a problem was to occur during the show, the ASM would have to contact the DSM over the cans to ask about what course of action should be taken to rectify the problem.
After the final performance on Saturday night, Rebecca, Charlotte and I began packing props and set dressing and moved them along with the furniture to the foyer ready to be loaded into the van in the morning. We finished the show washing and hung it up to dry for Miri to take in the morning. Other general things we did included hoovering the stage and dressing rooms, emptying the bins and washing up mugs.

Unloading Jeeves and Wooster flats from the van

The following morning at 10am Rebecca, Charlotte and I arrived at the theatre to meet Mark and Alan to help with the get out. Joining us today was Hannah, Matt, Erin, Ross, India, Kitty and Will. Our first task was to unload the Jeeves and Wooster set and props into the auditorium, when the van was clear of that set we loaded Funny Money set and props into the vans, as shown in the time lapses.

We finished the get in at Southwold at 11:45am. Mark and Alan stayed behind to assemble the set before heading to Aldeburgh to assemble Funny Money.
